While I think that a lot of the "hate" is overblown (there are things about it that I do like), it really brings very little to the android experience at a pretty high cost IMO.

When I tried out the S4 last year, it just felt like it was trying to do way too much. S-apps and features and gestures everywhere. Just felt like there were 2-3 stock apps for everything.

It's also pretty laggy compared to, say a Nexus 5 or a G3.

I'm general, it just tries to do too much and only gets in the way by being sluggish and having way too many baked in features. It's like that pretty girl who spends hours putting on too much makeup and ends up looking like a clown.
