I had no beef with the G3 when I had it. Thought it was muted enough and stayed out of my way.
ETA: Cyanogenmod on the 1+1 doesn't look bad either.
But to the point of the thread, Samsung needs to either drop the S line and focus solely on the Note. They've basically ruined the S line...time to cut bait.

I don't think the S Line is the issue, the note gave me the same problems that the s4 did.. I think Samsung will continue to see a decline until they do away with TW or give it a major overhaul.
