I don't see how you could say that.

The problem isn't Monty choosing defensive players over offensive players, because he doesn't always do that, Ryno will get plenty of minutes. The problem is Monty choosing inferior defensive players to play bottom of the league defense while the offense is playing 3 on 5. Last year's team showed it could win more with offensive small ball, and Monty showed he'd rather lose his way than play to the roster's strengths. Assuming the team is healthy he shouldn't have to choose losing defense over competitive offense.

Asik is one of the best defensive centers in the league. He and AD should be able to cause enough chaos that we may not mind if Asik gets some of Ryno's minutes. Now if Asik was getting Ryno's minutes while Aminu was in the game instead of a competent offensive player, then you've got problems. But even Salmons over Tyreke in that situation might make sense. The rotation minutes we might end up complaining about most this year could be Tyreke vs Gordon. Who do you play with the twin towers?

Monty played Brian Roberts, a far superior offensive player, over Austin Rivers, a far superior defensive player.

This is talking out of both sides of your mouth. Who was the coach when the team "showed it could win more with offensive small ball"? We had a respectable record with a pretty bad roster for most of the year.

I agree with all of this. I'm still not sure how I feel about Tyreke's fit with this team. At this point, I don't expect him to learn to hit jumpers, so he almost needs a stretch 4 to earn his money. Salmons/Davis/Asik and Evans/Anderson are both much better options than Evans/Davis/Asik. Evans/Asik will be this year's watered down version of Chief Steamer.

Evans/Anderson/Asik should be passable in situations.

I assume you're calling Davis/Asik the Twin Towers.
