But I think Davis Love III felt he needed birdie on the last hole to tie for the lead (he wasn't in the last group) and he ran his 15ish foot birdie putt past the hole, then gave a half-hearted attempt at his short par putt coming back. He missed, and when the leaders bogeyed at the end Love III missed out on the playoff by 1 stroke.
At least I think it was Love.
