Its not murder until the victim is dead.

Duh.

In your world I can shoot a guy in the head and if he stays alive on life support for a week and I'm able to plead guilty to attempted murder in 6 days - I'm good!

But we aren't talking about 6 days we are talking about 33 years. Not your hypothetical worlds but the real world.

If they had to wait for Brady to die are they gonna now put Hinckley in prison?
