I give a lot of leniency to peoples behavior in times of losing a friend.

When a friend of mine tragically died though, one dude used it as an opportunity to attention hor on Facebook constantly. That is disrespectful IMO. It should be about them, not some conjured up emotion so people feel bad for you.

So do I.

Several years ago I saw an RIP post in Spanish on my news feed. I doubt that was fishing for attention because most of her friends in the mainland US didn't understand the post.
