A ten year old shouldn't watch this film, so why is reading about the acts any more acceptable?

So kids shouldn't learn about the holocaust until they're 17? That's fricking dumb.

Sure, kids should learn about the Holocaust before 17, but this scenario is different. A 10 year old shouldn't be forced into a situation in which he/she blindly researches the outcome of a similarly-aged child. It's a forced burden that no child (in the peak of their innocence) should have to experience.

When we have college students, in this case from Maryland, who do not know who the Founding Fathers were, who fought who in the Civil War & who the atomic bomb was dropped on ( Waters World on Fox last wk)who Lincoln freed, etc it's never too early to start teaching our kids history of any kind in my opinion.
