Knowing both people involved in this matter, I can say this:

First, color me unsurprised when it comes to Charlie Roberts. The guy is creepy and there are all kinds of rumors about him and the women he keeps on staff at the Alumni Association. Most people I know at LSU can't wait until he leaves his post at the Alumni Association.

Next, I am surprised by Kay Heath's role in this. She was a pretty ineffective marketer/public relations person, but I didn't think she was screwing the boss to make up for it. I mean, she's nothing to look at, and comes off pretty plain Jane. Seems out of character for her.

Lastly, shite like this is why I don't give to the Alumni Association. Let me clue you folks in on something. The Alumni Association oversees one or two scholarship programs, and the rest of what they do is oversee alumni activities, and manage the Cook Conference Building and Hotel. When you give to the Alumni Association, you are making grabassery like this possible. If you want to give to academics, give to the LSU Foundation. If you want to give to athletics, give to TAF.

It's high time all three foundations merge under one roof. The fat in all of these organizations needs to be cut, honestly (TAF runs the leanest staff), but the Alumni Association is the worst of the bunch. There's about three guys there keeping the whole operation float. Everyone else... you could jettison and not miss one bit.
