the fact that many inner city kids resent LSU.

How many other examples are out there?

well i shouldn't say resent...i should say "don't feel the need to rep local"

Noil
Ed Reed
Reggie Wayne
Joe McKnight
Kordell Stewart
Mannings

The stigma of LSU is polar opposites with many of these kids. A lot of them hate hearing about LSU all the time. Noil and McKnight come to mind,

McKnight saw Reggie Bush. He wanted to be that. Noil sees a wide open offense and the success they are having thanks to Manziel and Sumlin so he thinks that's the sexy school.

There is more allegiance to the state school in small towns than in big cities.

Did you just call the Mannings "inner city kids"?

During some of those players time, LSU sucked balls though.

Unproven and hasn't earned the right to be in the class as most in this list. Que sera, sera.

Ed Reed

Went to Miami in 1997... LSU was such a powerhouse and attractive place to play under DiNardo in those days because it's not like Miami was doing anything at this time .

Reggie Wayne

Also went to Miami but in 1997 (see Ed Reed... Did I mention this was 1997?)

quote:

Joe McKnight

Wanted to play for and during the heyday of Pete Carroll at USC.

quote:

Kordell Stewart

Went to Colorado in 1991. Because everyone wanted to play for LSU in 1991 (the first year of curly Hallman)
