I'm all for the kid enjoying the process; however, he can't get upset if he loses his spot to other players that committed earlier in the process to the same school. There are positives and negatives of each and I think the main positive for most kids is securing that spot and being done with the whole process. I imagine it can be overwhelming getting all the mail, calls, etc....so being done with it early can cut it out more...it just also cuts out more of the free opportunities to get those free visits.
