Does anyone here operate under the notion that in 1948 Israelis were given back the homeland that was stolen from them by Muslims in the 7th century?

I suppose the ancient homeland business is meant to shore up some moral claim.
But I don't assign the moral high ground to either side.
So, morality being equal between them, I favor the side who that we have more in common with and is more likely to win militarily.

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile.
A representative from Israel began:
'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses:
When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought,
"What a good opportunity to have a bath!"
Moses removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished.
A Palestinian had stolen them!
The Palestinian representative at the UN jumped up furiously and
shouted, "What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then."
The Israeli representative smiled and said,
"And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech."

IF you would do a little research, not much, you would find out that the Jewish people had been purchasing land from the Ottoman Turk overlords for DECADES.

I also decided to search what happened to the Hebrews. There's a theory out there that says that the Pashtuns in Afghanistan are the actual descendants of the Hebrew people that surrendered Judaism for Islam. Also interesting.
