No unity tickets.
If Paul and Booker want to work together, they can both stay in the Senate or one of them can become President and the other one be a Senate leader.
Politics in this country are divided enough that I wouldn't put it past a nutbar on one side to recreate Charles Guiteau's shooting of President Garfield.
Guiteau said upon his arrest "I am a Stalwart of the Stalwarts. .. Arthur is president now!", referring to Chester A. Arthur, Garfield's VP, who was on the ticket as a concession to Sen. Roscoe Conkling's Stalwart faction.
Arthur, to his credit, ended up being a very solid president and not a tool for the Stalwarts as expected.
