I thought Alabama was considered one of the better public southern universities.
Alabama is a good school, no Worse then LSU. I just wanted to say that before I started my next post so people would know I am not trolling. How in the holy hell of all holy hells did you think Alabama was one of the better public southern Universities? All the ACC schools, plus the Texas public schools, plus UGA and UF laugh at you

I don't think their methodology is good. Using ratemyprofessor disqualifies this ranking for me.

But I am glad USL (ULL) and Alabama are ranked much lower than LSU.

It still shows that Louisiana has too many colleges that don't even make the list. Wonder what it would take to shut down a university in Louisiana?

1) Yup
2) Legislature and Governor growing a pair...so Act of God.

ULL below all other state Universities?

You do realize there are more than just four state-run universities in Louisiana, right??

This list is pretty bad for Louisiana. Our best ranked school is 147 in the country. Are there any states whose best school is ranked lower than that? I'm sure Mississippi..

Not disagreeing with that, but it's hard to argue the department is on top of the geo world right now.

Sounds like a good way to build a program, rather than having to always depend on asking the state for more money.

That's how the engineering program has also been able to rise up to recognition. Need to keep drawing more interest from private entities on both academic and athletic side.

I hope that helps attract more oil companies to recruit ( it should...) . Tired of seeing some of my geo homies there doing a victory lap because they can't find a job.

Do they not want to relocate? Seems to be the problem when I've heard of a jobless geo recently.

Regardless, if you can win twice in 3 years and be a contender for last 7 or so, that means your geologist graduates coming out of ULL are some of the best since they have teaching moments from the industry.

Can't wait to get started in a few weeks.
