Those aren't far enough apart after taxes to impact your decision. Go to the city you like, but also consider which company will offer more advancement.

While I take care of paying off student loans, I'll be able to live at my dad's house. He works shift work, so it's like a roommate who cooks supper a few times a week

This, I bet they won't be much difference at all after state income taxes. Texas would be higher in property taxes but I'm assuming you will rent either way for a while reguardless.
