I've put 2 down over the years and about a year after each one we got another puppy. Each time I said I wouldn't get another but to no end I gave another that is almost 2 years old. Just love having an animal that loves you back unconditionally.

Absolutely, and as tough as it is to lose them, knowing you had a friend for many years makes for great memories.
