Maybe it's because he is the least like any SF guy that I've ever seen/heard of/ever known, going several wars back, even to my Dad's compadres from WWII?

You must know him pretty well. I don't. I've probably seen and read more about him than you, but I'm not stupid enough to think I know him. You are. I think he had some issues. You apparently hate his everloving guts judging by your constant biting criticisms.

You must know what SF guys are "like". I don't (despite knowing many in civilian life and training with many in the military). Hint: there is no "like". Your substandard brain thinks there is a static type because that makes things easy. Operators are dynamic human beings and may share some traits (or not) but are also individuals.

You are a fricking idiot.

You must have been the first to give up in survival training. And I'll bet you have high blood pressure.

most of those were probably made before people read the entire thread, if they did at all. Cause this thread has become far more in the favor of Ventura.

What about libel/slander cases? I always assumed they were hard to win.

From what I understand they are. And in this case Ventura had to prove not only that Kyle lied, but that he did so with malice. And he did. That's a big hill to climb.

Did anyone believe this douche?

Seems like the first few pages of this thread were against Ventura. Now that more lies have come out about Kyle, those guys have left the thread

FTR, I am with Ventura all the way. He wanted this stuff removed and it was before Kyle was murdered. Why should he "just let it go"?

If he wants to clear his name that was tarnished he could donate it to wounded warrior.

Lot of great people in this thread, they would all give away the money Ventura hasn't even gotten! Never mind he spent lots of time fighting this and I imagine his time is valuable. He wanted this cleared before it got to this.

BTW, there are a few stories about Wounded Warriors not being the best place to send money. Crazy high salaries, etc. Plenty of links, here's a couple:

When you consider the extremely high burden of proof that a public figure like JV must bear to win a defamation suit, it is pretty clear that the sniper was a liar.

This issue is a prime example of how things are not always black and white or cut and dried. Interestingly, both Kyle and Ventura are not easily defined. Both have done great things and both have done questionable things. They are/were both extraordinary people who are/were not perfect, a weakness we all share.

And to quote the great warrior Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.

The jury had to deliberate for six days and was near deadlock, after more instruction from the judge concerning the level of proof needed they reached a 8-2 verdict with the jury foreman still siding with Kyle. Does not seem like the jury thought it was very clear.

read Luttrell's book. I can't recall any mention of that silly car jacking story. It's been awhile but I thin if I read

Luttrell wrote 2 books & you may have read his 1st book ;"Lone Survivor"?

According to articles I have read (did not read his books) the carjacking passage is in his 2nd book; "Service: A Navy SEAL..........

After taxes & lawyer fees Ventura may see several hundred thousand at best unless he is allowed to sue publisher next.

They are acting as if though Jesse Ventura is suing some poor helpless widow/orphans when they profited handsomely from the book , movie rights ,etc.......

I'm with you & Reg861 about how this thread has turned & I may appeal to the moderators to clear my reputation by having these downvotes removed

USMC, what about his quote about constantly getting in bar fights and breaking his hand in one? Does this jive with your experiences with regard to SF? I think it sounds a little odd.

That book sounds like an awful lot of embellishment if not down right lies. JMO though.
