By far the most stupid person I know (and a congressman) You Tube Hank Johnson Guam. I watched 10 times because I was convinced it was a fraud. Sadly found out later he was actually that stupid.

However, if you go back ten years, there are still plenty, if not a majority, of democrats who are moderate to center-right.

What? What does 10 years ago matter?

The ones there now are fricking kooks. Look who their fricking leadership is. How many did NOT vote for pelosi as their leader. How in the frick can anybody who votes for pelosi for ANYTHING NOT be a left-wing kook? At the very least the majority of them voted for her - ergo, you point is flat wrong.

No - she and the rest of the CBC are the 'immortals' = the shock troops who can be counted on to deliver the decisive edge in most political contests in congress.

They allow the rest of the DEMs to occasionally take a reasonable position during debates so as to preserve THEIR viability in their campaigns back home. Sometimes these other DEMs can be allowed to actually cast a vote to enhance their election chances (Landrieu is a ggod example - except when REALLY needed aka ACA - then she also toes the line)

Without the CBC votes these red-state DEMs would have to make far more decisions as to whether to do what the folks back home want or what the DNC wants. The CBC relieves them of much of that burden.

Sorry - Bachman may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I don't think you can call her stupid, especially stupidity on the level of SJL, et al.

SJL is not even the most stupid DEM in congress - probably in the top (or bottom) ten though. I don't think you could find any GOP congressman to rival the bottom 30 stupidest DEMs in congress.

Maybe you could find one or two.

The major differences between the two sides seem to be that stupid Republicans tend to say something that gets used to torpedo them in an election, meaning they don't make it to DC, while Dems who say stupid things tend to be in districts which are near-impossible to lose in.

I think the only CBC member to lose to a Republican in the last 20 years, outside of a major redistricting that changed the makeup of their district, has to be Jefferson circa 2008 and that was because he was about to be convicted in federal court.

Pajama Media attempted to contact Rep. Lee's office about this contradictory statement about impeachment.

One staffer started ranting about "right-wing bloggers" without even knowing who was on the line, refusing to give his name, then threatened them with an IRS audit and hung up.

They called back and were told "This is the Chief Counsel. You have 15 seconds.", then they counted down from 15 to 1 before hanging up.

Lovely bunch of people in that office.
