I saw KKIII for the first time last week. I can't fathom how Daniel would be so scared of Barnes in a tournament, just months after taking on Chosen in a battle for life and death.

Chozen rips off a bunch of poor farmers, and you complain about Daniel rubbing shite in his face.

I don't excuse his actions. Just pointing out that Danielsan talks shite whenever he gets the chance to...and he never seems to want to do it unless his counterparts are incapacitated. Like when Chozen is surrounded by farmers or as Daniel is speeding away in a car.

Also, if I wanted to stretch it, I'd say that Chozen was actually helping the farmers with the fake weights (assuming he pays them per pound, for example). It's been discussed before here as to how having fake weights could be beneficial for him to use...what is the scheme there?

Um, I beg your pardon, but when Daniel punches the crooked, fake weight using piece if shite in his nuts, first of all, it's a keen display of marksmanship for obvious reasons, and secondly he's being robbed by more than one person and is unarmed.

But I'm sure you could whip them all in a fair fight, announcing your intentions beforehand.

I think it's just a case of a gay guy preferring the better looking actors, as your gif proves, and then trying to rationalize it. You like bad boys, dude. That's all. Just own it.

So you're clearly saying that you find Chozen to be "the better looking actor" than Daniel. Got it. Interesting that you're literally the first person to mention that, as well as basically all but say that the gif in my OP is hot. But I'm the gay one....good call.

When they're at the ice breaking bar, Danielsan is trying to impress Kumiko by talking shite about the dudes trying to break the ice. He's all like "Nah, nah, they're doing it wrong...you have to do this and that" and "It's not how strong you are it's all about focus and your mind" and bullshite like that. Then as soon as Chozen calls him out for bashing United States soldiers in a bar on how terrible they are, Danielsan gets pissy. Then when Miyagi shows up and lays down a cool $600 on Daniel (at 3:1 odds), he flips his shite and turns into a little count talking about "Mr. Miyagi what the hell are you doing...I can't break all six of those?!!?!"

Neat. Then what happens?

And you just literally said that Asian Howard Cosell from Better Off Dead is hot. And Johnny. And Terry Silver. Interesting.

I'll explain the ice brick scene. Daniel, having received MMs wisdom, knows the truth about how to break them. However, when confronted, he loses confidence because he is not yet a man. Miyagi does what any good teacher does and puts his student on the spot to win or lose. He will learn a valuable lesson, win or lose, i.e. that if you talk shite, you should have to back it up.

The fake weights are a great exercise in being a grown up. In the adult world, you can't just beat up everyone who says something you don't like. Chozen has the power to do so, because he's a privileged piece of shite. Daniel is probably the first guy to challenge his bullying ways, and does so in a context where Chozen is powerless to do anything about it. Lesson learned.

Crowd interference? Lol. Are you sure you're not a Bama fan?

I don't think Tombstone is the best western ever, or that The Sandlot is the best baseball movie ever.

Horrific, I know.

I've never understood it either.

You get the point the movie was trying to make.

But let's focus on what's important..... Daniel talked shite when he was in the clear.

You have some pretty twisted morals.

Daniel is just an annoying guy we're forced to cheer for. He worms his way into situations and has to get bailed out. He's no rocky but he tries to be.

I always thought that Chozen was the seller, not the buyer. I'll have to go back and watch, but if he's the buyer, then I blame the writers, not Daniel. That's just stupid in any context.

I think your revelation about Chozen being the seller blew their minds.

I know what the scene represents...I'm not a retarded five year old. my point is that Daniel is all talking shite about everybody trying to break the ice and acts like he knows what's up, but as soon as he's challenged, he turns into a(n even bigger) pussy than he always is.

I don't know what to tell you...if you don't think the crowd had anything to do with Daniel winning that fight, then you clearly haven't watched the movie.

Interesting...could be, but thatt sure as hell doesn't seem to be the case. People come from all over town with their fruits/vegetables and Chozen is there with cash in hand. I guess he could be the seller, but that wouldn't make much sense in how it's presented. That scene has always baffled me. Like MFM said though, obviously you know the point the movie is trying to make, but that doesn't mean it makes any sense whatsoever.

Per the Wiki plot:
quote:

Daniel discovers that Chozen's grocery business has been defrauding the villagers, who subsequently demand compensation.

So if he has a grocery business, it would make sense that he buys the food from the villagers and then sells it back to them...so the people who were mad at him with the weights were the ones there to buy the food maybe?

There seems to be a good bit of internet chatter about this. I found this:
quote:

Corrected entry: In the scene where Chozen is buying vegetables from the villagers, one of the weights from the scale is knocked onto the ground. Daniel picks it up and realises that its not a real weight and breaks it in half. If Chozen wanted to cheat the villagers when he weighed their vegetables, he would need weights that were heavier than normal, not lighter plastic ones. Lighter weights would mean that Chozen would need to add far more of the light weights to make any amount of vegetables balance out, therefore he would be paying more for the vegetables than they are worth.

Correction: Chozen wasn't buying the vegetables, he was selling them, it was his land (his uncles land) so the villagers would pick then go to him to pay for what they have taken. That's why he had light weights, to have the villagers think they were buying more than they actually were.

Also, I found one of the discussions we had on here about this, and we did apparently talk about him being the one selling the food.
