Do they help Nadal because one can argue he'd have more titles without these injuries, or does it just make Fed's run that much more impressive. IMO Fed's play style is specifically tuned to avoid injury so he should get credit for that.

Fed certainly has not suffered the number of injuries that Nadal has, but who has? Let's not foget that Fed did suffer a bout with mono (which retired Soderling) and did go through a period where he was suffering from back problems, and Fed's record during this period of time wasn't all that great.
