So a year ago, I got into a car accident when I got hit from behind. I was diagnosed with whiplash and got an MRI with two serious bulging discs. My lawyer told me the medical bills are around $9,000. He told me I can only get $24,000. So I should get around $6,000. Should I get another lawyer?

You cant prove the bulging disks are from the accident. Disk bulges generally are degenerative.

No one on here can tell you that, but if you do, your current lawyer is likely going to be owed money.

My mom bumped some woman at a light. No damage to either car. The woman got her percentage of $100,000

your lawyer is taking 40% of the 24k, then the bills are 9k. in all you are left with about 6k in your pocket for doing absolutely nothing and its tax free. enjoy the 6k and STFU and stop filing frivolous law suits

No one can give you an honest answer with this information.

Sounds like you need an accountant not a lawyer.

Makes the claim more valuable since they're serious.

Everything is always negotiable. Raise hell and stand your ground in order to milk as much out of it as you can. They think you'll be a pushover and want quick money. Drag it out then eventually they'll cave (your attorney and the insurance company).

Policy limits are likely $25,000. Insurance company wants to save 1k off that and settle. A new lawyer won't change the available recovery.

This is not advice. I am not a lawyer.
