it's similar, but it's not really the same. i mean we can argue that lying to decrease humiliation is a central theme of humanity, but that's over-generalizing (and the issue in tKaM involves much more societal, instead of personal, pressure)

that does happen. happened in the 2 temple rape cases. i'm sure if the duke lacrosse shite happened 7-8 years later, it would have exonerated them as well. it's not a slam dunk, though
