They do have a potent ground game but South Carolina beat them by 10 in the bowl game, even with that ground game. Wisconsin has a history of very good offensive lines. We'll probably give up some on the ground but for some reason, I'm not worried so much about losing this game. I think our offense, even with a new QB, will have wrinkles and mismatches that will score a bunch of points on them. We will be better on defense and that will give us the overall advantage in my opinion.

Not sure what this post proves other than LSU has more 'stars' attached to its program.
No, With the massive gap between the recruiting rankings it means we have more talent than you, not more stars
And, LA produces more NFL talent per capita than any other state in the country....we breed them young here. Good luck to you, you will need it.

More stars = more talent.
This is nothing new for Wisconsin. The program was able to compile a winning percentage of better than 70% throughout the BCS era with an abundance of walk-ons and two- and three-star talent.
They'll be competitive in this game.

Feel free to continue reading that same post.
In case you don't feel like scrolling back to that page, though...
There are five projected starters along the front seven that have started multiple games in their career. On top of that, Dave Aranda's 3-4 defense calls for an abundance of shuffling, especially along the defensive front. In other words, there is not a 'severe' shortage of experience. These guys aren't being thrown into the fire, but they will have to become acclimated to becoming full-time starters.
The unit as a whole does not concern me as much as replacing Chris Borland.

What more do you want? The poster I responded to said that LSU D will be better than I think, which I have never actually contended. He then said Wisconsin had to replace its front seven, which I find to be somewhat untrue. So, my rebuttal was the same as what he anticipated I said: Wisconsin D will be more experienced than what [he] thinks.

The last couple years we've been coming out swingin in the season opener. I definitely don't have reason to think otherwise this year.
35-17 Tigers.
35-17 Tigers.

We do have Les Miles as head coach. He's good for at least one blunder every year, losing to someone we shouldnt lose to. Always bear that in mind.
So we should never lose a game? I can say the same for saban. They have one undefeated season.
Never lost an opener and lost 2 bowl games ooc. I'll take les over anybody in non conference openers.

At least they talk college football in Wisconsin, but highly doubt they are as big college football fans as LSU/SEC fans are. I can see them being huge Packers fans, just as much as the Saints fans are. I live in Virginia and I rarely hear anything about Va Tech or UVA...it is all about the Redskins.

Don't know if it's been brought up, too tired to search, but they constantly cite their game vs Iowa as the reason their team is better than LSU's.
I'm fairly certain that 98% of their fans didn't watch that game or know the circumstances of it. I respect their fanbase but they seem really ignorant. There's a troll on the Buckyville forum that's getting a lot of bites.

- Wisconsin's average attendance this past season was filled to 98% capacity and student season tickets typically sell out within 30 minutes.
- Madison is also lauded as one of the best college towns in the country.
- Camp Randall, like Tiger Stadium, is a highly thought of road trip for opposing fans.
This is a completely opinionated argument as there is no definitive measure, but Wisconsin fans are about as rabid as they come.

I have no doubt that with our young QB situation Miles plans to win this game at the line of scrimmage. You guys will be competive, I have no doubt. Miles won't try to do anything cute, which usually means a close fought game. But, our D is going to be off the charts, a much tougher D than you have seen in some time would be my guess. Just ask Johnny Manziel how tough it is to face our crazy fast DE's and LB's. Gordon will get his yards, but our D will make it very tough on him. In the end our talent in the trenches is going to be too much for Wisky to handle and we run away with it in the 4th. Predict a 2 td win..

I suppose it depends how you define "some time." Wisconsin has had a great rivalry with Michigan State over the past few seasons and Pat Narduzzi has pumped out some elite defenses during that time. In 2010, Wisconsin went against the TCU (No. 2) and Ohio State (No. 3) defenses.
But, yes, it is clear that LSU athletes far outweighs Wisconsin's athletes. This is not news on the Wisconsin end, though. More times than not, Wisconsin is outclassed in 'athletes' and 'talent.'

Minnesota= delusional
Anyone following the matchup closely would not pick Wisconsin. Too much talent for LSU even if it looks young. Badger fans respect the LSU athletes overall.
Wisconsin fans are pretty good- just a different breed. We have a lot of Packer loyalty in the state that takes precedent over Badger Football. Badgers still draw well at home and for the most part travel well (some Rose Bowls took 70k). LSU fans probably have a deeper passion. It is the South where the culture is much different. Its much more mainstream college football. Wisconsin has a strong following, but its an NFL state first. LSU has a strong following and its likely they are followed much more than the Saints.
I chuckle at the fat comments. Southern girls have got it going on, but statistically Wisconsin is middle of the pack nationwide- while Louisiana is 4th highest for obesity.
Louisiana has 1 bar per 5400 people. In Wisconsin it is 1 bar per 1800 people. Wisconsin is huge into hunting/fishing.
The summers here are ridiculously nice- it you can handle the rough winters it seems even better.

I’m not sure how we could expect anything other than complete optimism from any college football fan base. I don’t begrudge them for believing in their players.
I would, however, suggest they contact Bret Bielema and inquire about the quality of SEC football.
