I kind of think its funny because Peterson wasn't even the top playmaker for the Cards D last year.

he's a good player but lets see how different that defense is without Dansby.

Daryl Washington is also sitting a year out too.

Maybe. A solid CB that can cover is one of the most valuable players in the league at this point. QB and probably LT are at the top of the list, but consider how pass friendly the league is. If you can stop the pass, you can stop a lot.

The smart teams pay players based on what they will do during that contract, not what they have already done

Well you can't really let him walk and you don't want a holdout situation to occur.

So you pay him the going market rate. He would have gotten more than that as a FA.

Also, since it is an extension, you absolutely try to project his production.

This could be a bargain compared to if they waited. See the Drew Brees contract

Meh. The salary cap will continue to rise. They're not going to be rolling with a big QB salary for a while.

This just tells me Palmer and Fitz are about to be on the outs, or atleast one of them

Palmer has a big cap hit and Fitz has an INSANE cap number every year that they have to kick down the road just to get under the cap.

Well I hate Palmer, so...

I don't see Logan Thomas as ever being worth a damn. They messed up by not drafting Mett or Murray imo

Proud for the guy, i hate lsu as much as anyone could but i respect talent.. and this guy has it! Cornerback is my favorite position to watch, to me besides the qb they are most important position on the field..and pp is one of the best! Good to see a good guy get what he deserves

Meh. Peterson is good but he's not Sherman and that's still a ton of cash for a non-QB. Again, the price is fair for market value, but that's a lot of money for a CB. CBs don't have the most stable careers in the NFL.

The NFC West is the toughest division in the league. If I'm a Cardinals fan, efficiency with money will be key to keep up with Seattle and SF, short and long term.

Sticking it to the twitter-riffic Sherman, no doubt.

Meh, I would love to see what Peterson would do with that d-line and Earl Thomas over the top.
