Yep, that's pretty accurate. However, you're talking 4 out of 10 people will be diagnosed with cancer, in their lifetime. This includes non fatal skin cancers like basal cell and squamous cell, which are the most common.
I'd be more interested in the occurrence rate of a specific type of cancer among the 9/11 responders.
Also firefighters in general have a much higher rate of cancer than the general population.
