Raiders owner Mark Davis (Al's son) was among three team executive who met with San Antonio officials earlier this month to discuss a possible franchise relocation, according to a report Tuesday by MySanAntonio.com. The Raiders' lease with the city of Oakland to play in O.co Coliseum expires following this season.
San Antonio already has a stadium built, though the 21-year old Alamodome would likely need significant upgrades before being ready to host an NFL team. Texas San-Antonio and the arena football San Antonio Talons play their home games in the building, which also hosts the annual Alamo Bowl.
Any proposed franchise move would need to pass an league-wide ownership vote, with 24 of 32 required for approval. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello largely declined comment about the Raiders possible moving to San Antonio.

San Antonio isn't getting an NFL team before LA

Buffalo to Ontario first

It is called "We want a new stadium"

Leverage for contract negotiations. If they move, they are going to LA.

They'd keep the Latino market on lock.

Personally I want to see them move into Levi stadium along with the 49ers so we get to see pissed off 49er fans.

San Antonio is a huge mule for team owners to use to get stadium deals in place.
Teams that threatened to move to San Antonio:
1. Red McComb's Minnesota Vikings
2. Post-Katrina New Orleans Saints
3. Florida Marlins
4. MLS promised a team in 2004 and backed out, and will probably do it in the near future.
ETA: Found a quote in the article.

In the NFL, the New Orleans Saints, the Minnesota Vikings, the Arizona Cardinals, the San Diego Chargers and others reached out to San Antonio either directly or through the media

The NFL doesn't need/want San Antonio.

They still play on a baseball field, correct?

No hurricanes in California to stop this move

SA isn't getting the NFL before LA. The Raiders are staying out west. Only two teams would possibly move, Jags and Rams.

SA is the classic pawn for stadium negotiations. No way it actually happens

NFL will go to London first I think. Them being the first London team would make for an odd mascot/location.
Maybe change them to the red coats.

PLEASE let this happen!
I would love to have the NFL an hour away!

We better not move to San Antonio.

This is just a scare tactic to get tax payers in California to buy them a new stadium.
Standard operating procedure.
