I had a 25-06 and I'm not a fan. It doesn't do anything that you can't do with a 7mm-08. Loosing a deer that I shot perfectly at 80 yards didn't help.

It might be a count hair flatter shooting, but it isn't enough to matter unless you're launching light bullets at coyotes or something. Recoil is about the same IMO.

I did kill everything I shot with it along with a 300 pound sow hog, but only one of the 8 bullets I put in a living thing exited. It was a 50 yard neck shot.

I don't think it's a bad caliber, but it's the bare minimum for shooting deer IMNHO.

Should have tried Nosler Partitians in that rifle.

What wt and type of bullet were you using?
