gordon is a true home run threat. but I think LSU contains him for the most part. LSU will crowd the box and make whoever the qb is make perfect throws.

rewatching some of the wisconsin games from last year, and their defense is a bunch of slower DJ Welters.

21 carries, 179 yards and 2 TDs

He is the best RB we will see all year and THAT is saying something considering the SEC backs we'll see.

He's a freak of nature and has a damn good OL.

That being said, they can't pass the ball at all. Terrible QB with non-existent WRs against our CBs. Good TE but we actually do well against solid TEs. Their rushing production will be basically the only thing their offense does.

he's a great back, but I don't think he rushes for that many yards against the LSU defense

You think this is the only production they will have on offense and yet he will run for almost 9 yards per carry? You're crazy.

Has anyone run for this many yards against LSU like in the last 10 years outside of McFadden in 2007?

ones in bold were the teams to hold him to under 100 yards

those are his stats. 12 rushing TD's on the year. 1609 yards rushing against scrub big-10 teams. Hell, Jeremy Hill had 200+ yards against iowa and he couldn't crack 70 vs them.

Auburn ran for like 500 yards in 2010. Wasn't one player, but let's not act like LSU is the definition of Steel Curtain over the years -- they've been great at times, but also vulnerable, just like most good college defenses.

No shite. They had Cam Newton at QB. Pretty sure Joel Stave isn't running anywhere in that game.

Yeah the key is most of the time. What happens more often than not when LSU has faced a great running back for the last 10 years or so?

Richardson
Mason
Ingram
Lacy
Yeldon
LaMichael James
De'Anthony Thomas
Noel Devine
Andre Ellington

They have a terrible passing game and we have a couple of lock down CBs on the field. It isn't very often that LSU gets gorged on the ground by a completely one dimensional team. But thanks for saying we aren't the Steel Curtain

I thought james white from the badgers was a better back than gordon honestly from watching their highlights in 2013. glad he's gone.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, Gordon is a damn good RB and has elite breakaway speed. I just don't worry about a one dimensional team that we have the entire offseason to prepare for, gorging us on the ground.

didn't happen last year or the year before, and that's only what is relevent to the 2014 squad.

I don't care about what happened in 2005 or 2008 or whatever like some fans like to point to

those years have no relevence to THIS years team, you know what i'm saying?

Are you guys really saying Wisky's running game is their only true threat and they will be successful against the Tigers? Since I have been following LSU (a very long time) I don't recall many RBs having great success against the Tigers' D. I say he averages 4 yards a carry or less.

This Tiger D is going to surprise a lot of folks, many of our fans included. They took a slight step back last year and will take a giant leap forward this year. They have one of, if not the best, DE combos in the nation. They have a stable of young hungry DTs ready to make a name for themselves, two shut down corners, hyper speed LBs and athletic safeties with CB coverage skills, especially if Mills can play. QBs will be running for their lives. Teams with just a running threat will be overwhelmed.
