Good read on Kasongo... While I'm still not sure how much help he would be, I'd hate to see him at Ole Miss or Miss St kicking our arse...

I think hed be perfect. He's got really good size, he's extremely physical, and stupid athletic. He can clearly run the floor well, so we won't have to slow down at all if we use him and Victor at the same time. Can you imagine our press next year if we get him and Malik? The length would be insane.

Yea Just watched some more film on him. He could be the perfect Mickey replacement with a couple extra inches.

WANT.

If he takes visits to LSU, Ole Miss, and Miss St, talks to our coaches and sees our facilities... Sees the depth chart and the possibility to play for a great team, I don't see any reason he would pick OM or MSU...

I think he would be perfect also. Mostly just because you don't really know how well Elbert and Epps are going to progress. Yeah, reports have been good on Elbert and another offseason for Epps to recuperate has to be beneficial but you just never know.

At the very worst, you are going to get a shot-blocker who can impose that presence at the rim and someone who can at least throw down some putbacks

Miss St. Might be a real threat,I remember tigerbait putting out an article on Kasongo when McCray was at Lsu .And it stated that the only reason Kasongo was looking at Lsu was because of his relationship with McCray

Forgot about that. Good point.

That may have been the case, but I would have to imagine he is looking at it the same way Newman is. Two, possibly three, top 5-star players coming in. Lot of playing time available at his position.

I know we all have Victor penciled in, but you never know, and Kasongo could come in, impress and be the starting center with Victor moving to PF, allowing us to use Simmons as a wing

He could start at Mississippi State too, but you are just hoping you make it to the NIT there

Yea. The biggest difference between Miss St and LSU will be the fact that we will be a top 25 team with about as good of a chance to make the NCAAT as possible, while Miss St will be bad for another couple of years.

Well, he'd be a bench player here, so I'd hope someone that would get 10-15 minutes wouldn't be able to beat up on us too badly.

I don't see Howland staying long, and I mean that he will get let go. His disciplinarian style barely worked when he had the talent he did at UCLA. I just can't see it going over well at MSU.

But if we get Newman and Kasongo, that makes this a VERY deep team and a scary team at that with just the different lineup options we have

edit: Also forgot the potential addition of Sampson, although I don't think he would have much impact his first season if he came here

Hopefully Epps can add about 15-20lbs this off season

That would be to much weight in one year. He just needs to get stronger and mature

Kasongo wouldn't start here. You have to put your best 5 on the floor and we wouldn't bump Simmons down to SF and take Quarterman or Hornsby or Blakeney off the floor for Kasongo to start.

You have to think of it as Kasongo replacing one of the guards which simply shouldn't happen.

Yeah Sampson going forward is a huge help to have a somewhat experienced guard for 2016 and beyond if we have a mass exodus of guards after next season.

LSUsports.net has him listed at 6'9" 208, he has probably gained a few lbs since those measurements. Getting to 220-225lbs in a full year is not difficult!

For a wing you shouldn't bulk up that much in a year. It would throw off athleticism and shooting. When you are 6'8 the little things make a big difference. I would say him gaining 8-10 pounds max

Don't think Sampson will be heading to LSU, because he wants immediate playing time. That said, I do hope we land him because he'll be a great player for LSU.

I just don't see the St. John's allure. Yeah, he'll get plenty of playing time next year, but that's because all they will have left is Rysheed Jordan, if he stays.

Yeah, Sampson probably wouldn't get much time at LSU next year, but he would more than likely be a starter for the 2016-17 season

So does that mean Auburn is about to enter the picture for him?

No clue. Of all the schools he visited, only one was Under Armour. I'll leave it at that.
