May be headed to Jackson, MS tomorrow night to get one final look at Malik Newman as he tries to win his 4th straight HS Championship.

Losing Martin a TQ in one year would be a huge blow. Unless we get newman, that would make up for TQ leaving

Hey Coach,

McVeigh committed to, but has not signed with Nebraska, a team that ended its season with nine straight losses. Any possibility that a coaching change by the Huskers could get the Aussie wing man to re-think his commitment? Does LSU have any interest in this 6-8 wing at this stage of the recruiting season?

No clue tbh. Have not heard his name come up with LSU for a while. I assume like with anything there is a possibility and if a coaching change happen, he may be available again. Just never know with things like that. He won't be only recruit to come available. Coaching changes, etc are still in play. Will know more in the next week or so (after Black Monday and kids react).

That being said, it is official... I am heading to Jackson, MS tonight. Anyone near there should head to the Mississippi Coliseum for Malik's championship game at 8.

I can't stop watching Simmons and Blakeny highlights. This is going to be the most prolific scoring 1-2 combo ever at LSU. If we get Malik too, I feel sorry for everyone we face next season.

Maybe. We won't have them as long. Shaq was a special defender. We need Mickey to come back to fill that role.

tOfficial LSU 2015/2016/2017 Basketball Recruiting Thread by burgemanI would put the chance of tq leaving at 25%, I was just stating it's a legit concern. I mean look at it, this will probably be his best opportunity, he will be losing pt next year.

Where would TQ go? It damned sure wouldn't be the NBA. I hope he has a second language like say Greek if he plans to play anymore hoops.

Have heard NBA guys are intrigued by LSU's Tim Quarterman. 6-foot-6, can play the point/be primary playmaker. Had triple-double last month.

And hasn't done much since. I wouldn't spend a pick on him, even in the second round, if he came out this year. He has talent, but still very raw

Yaah Quarterman is really way to inconsistent to be an NBA draft pick right now. I could certainly see him being one next year with becoming consistent. Better his AST:TO ratio. Finally get a 3 point shot down.

Can Quarterman be as good next year as the Collinsworth kid from BYU was this year? Or will the additional talent around him prevent that type of impact?

Collinsworth had like 6 triple doubles this year, but was really BYUs second option and main faciliator. I don't see Quarterman be either of those roles on our team next year, but still an important cog.
