BIG Something

quote:

"BIG Something’s sound may be difficult to describe, but the feeling you get while listening to the group isn’t. The feeling is ecstasy; the feeling you’ve been longing for all winter, or perhaps all your life. Simple joy, gratitude, and the desire to share those emotions with everyone around you are the symptoms of a BIG Something show."
- Appalachian Jamwich Magazine

let me stare

a slower one

jason martin & the corner pocket "i am the sea"

opening for marc broussard and co sept 5th at live after five in baton rouge

Wyoming's own, Jalan Crossland. Hell of a nice guy too/ Bluegrass/Folk

quote:

Wyoming has always featured prominently in Crossland’s music. His lyrics often paint a stark picture of life in the Cowboy State, with tales of strippers and hobos, guns and alcohol and descriptions of trailer park life. And yet, with a heavy dosage of humor, an endearing picture of the state emerges. Life might be rough-and-tumble, but the people are free and happy.

In one of his better-known songs, “My Home is on the Big Horn Mountains,” Crossland sings:

You grab a fifth of Bacardi.

I'll grab a .44-40.

We'll go out to the dump and shoot a TV

And I ain't coming back here no more.

Despite the lyrics, Crossland has no intentions of leaving Wyoming for the city, as many a country music star has done. His family is in Ten Sleep, as are his friends.
