I've already said I don't think that the Redskins should change the name. That doesn't mean it doesn't have a history as a racial slur. Context is important.

how can it be a racial slur if the community "affected" by it cant agree that it is? not only that, we arent talking about being ambivalent to the term - but some reasonably large percentage of the population literally taking pride in the term.
