What's interesting is how certain stereotypes evolved especially in the case of the Jews.
I guess so. And I must fit the food profile.
...but on a serious note, it's not funny when people hate because of religion, ethnicity or negative stereotype.

I don't hate Jews. Historically though, they get hate and probably will get hate until the end of times, if you believe in that sort of thing.
I will say that the Jewish girls I know have a very distorted sense of reality.

I have never seen so many people hating Jewish people as I have here.
Anti-semitism is classic scapegoating and mistaking correlation for causation.
After the Templars were destroyed, the "Christian" banking industry went with them. As usury laws prevented Christians from charging each other interest - a "profitable" banking enterprise was impossible. Jews were not under such restrictions, and, although they had to deal with a lot of unpleasant issues coming through that era, lack of money stopped being one of them. Jews slowly filled that vacuum and eventually dominated the financial services industry in Europe - this persisted well after the Catholic Church's usury rules were abandoned by most Christians.
People with money are able to get their kids better education, kids tend to go into the family business - and - voila - 700 years later, Jews remain prominent in banking, medicine, law, business, retail, media, entertainment - virtually anything which requires capital investment or advanced education. Why? Because there was a particular niche they were able to fill in medieval times.
It isn't any more complicated than that.

You won't find many people who will admit to hating Jews. You will find a lot of people with fricked up views towards them.
Go start a thread about Skip on the Rant and see what happens. Maybe it's faded by now but every one of them when he was AD had comments about him and money.

My grandmother was born jewish but converted to presbyterinism, quite a few of my 2nd cousins are jewish. Technically I am jewish, as its my mother's mother. growing up we incorporated quite a few jewish traditions into our life (passover).
they are all great people. I will say they are super cheap, as I am.
I work with quite a few jews. they are all cool too.
eta: I look like a stereotypical jew. Crazy curly hair, large nose. I have never felt discriminated due to this.

Because they tortured and murdered Jesus

Only uneducated people would hate someone for race or beliefs. I don't take these people seriously and you shouldn't either. It's the same with others in society that are narrow minded. Ala tigerlee

I honestly don't see anti-semitism in my social circle, but I imagine this is the kind of card held very close to the chest.

I don't hate anyone. It goes against my Christian beliefs.

Well, for me, I'm a self-hating Jew. I hate myself so much that I'm a confirmed Catholic

Well the Romans sort of did that. And, to counter the allegation that "they" (i.e. Jews) did, insofar as Jews (primarily the religous status quo) participated in the persecution and conviction, including calling for his execution, fair enough. But what about Jesus' mother, Apostles and most of his disciples and followers? Virtually all of his supporters and family members were Jews.

European christians hate(d) the jews because they were the non-christian foreigners and the money lenders. Everybody hates the money lender - throw religion and ethnicity on top and it's not surprising that they became reviled in Europe. Any current hate is probably disconnected from anything rational...they're just an "other".
Muslims and Jews actually lived side by side in relative peace until the establishment of Israel.

I see you have extensive experience with the JAP as well.
My uncle and cousins are Jewish. I went to a Jewish school when I was a little kid, and I work with a lot of Jewish people. I love the culture and the approach to life.
However, JAPs are a scourge upon American men. They are nothing but headaches, trouble, and a divorce. They usually do have a set of great big ol boobies, though.

One of my favorite lines from "Entourage" was when Ari Gold came home to his wife very tired, but she wanted to seduce him. She was trying to convince him to do some role playing with him and he said "Why don't we just try the Jewish American Princess and her Husband so I can get some sleep."

When I was still at LSU we interviewed a Jew from Israel for admittance to our graduate program. We would host the applicants with a current student and while he didn't stay with me the person he did stay with indicated the applicant from Israel left a floater in his toilet. Of course, I don't believe floaters are a characteristic of the Jewish people and don't judge all Israelis by this one rather odd individual.

One of the many things lost in all that happened in the Holocaust & Germany's role in it is that Poland was just as anti-semitic as the Germans were, and had been for centuries. When the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto revolted, a revolt that lasted over 41 days, the Poles outside the ghetto stood by & let the the slaughter happen, despite pleas from those inside the ghetto to help them fight a common enemy. And for those Jews who did survive the camps, when they returned to Poland & their former towns/property, they were kicked & beaten all over again, run out of town.

Yep. The Nazis used the Jews as a scapegoat because it was easy. They were already universally hated. It didn't take much extra propaganda and PR to convince most of their conquered citizens to let the Nazis just go ahead and get rid of them all.
