If he had been ripping people off, there's no way his company would've gotten that big that quick. You don't last long or put up the number of houses in the Nola area he did over the last 3-4 years without your customers having positive experiences. The news channels had this guy on their morning shows and sh*t.

Sounds like he hit a rough patch after spreading himself too thin financially. Happens to a lot of people in residential construction. Bouncing checks in that industry is nothing new and nothing that's going away anytime soon.

That's why you should get an AIA contract, a bond, lien releases, and certified draws with retainage on every job.

I know a guy in the NOLA area in construction (not a home builder) and he ripped off dozens upon dozens of people and had a terrible reputation. It just took years for it to catch up to him. He did it for years and advertised all over the place. He was the biggest in his niche. Stiffed one of his suppliers for close to a million dollars.

You think the morning show producers go out and fact check to see if the home's someone is building are built correctly?
