The old days you could hand off to Earl Campbell or Tony Dorsett or Bo Jackson and the other team was at your mercy like what you see in 6th grade tackle football... Running backs no longer turn the games the way they used to. The rule changes have made it more about the pass. Let the DB's keep contact all the way down the field, let the DT's and DE's do forearms to the helmuts of OT's, and we'll be back to a real game of football where a LF can dominate.

Not an LSU guy but Keenan Reynolds not being on the list is questionable

Fournette being on there is a joke. He's a true freshman. He's not near all-american status in college football before ever playing a snap.

this, loses all validity, I hope Fournette is the GOAT, but as of right now, he's just a former high school football star

thank y'all. i don't care how talented a guy is. you cannot label him as an all-american player until he actual plays in a football game. yeah, he could very well live up to the hype, but right now that's all he is, hype. He hasn't played yet. he will have every chance in the world to prove he can live up to it, but using potential to rank him along with players who have actually excelled at this level is just irresponsible journalism.

if only I wouldn't have blown out my knee scoring the game winning TD in the HS championship game my senior year...

See, here it is again. Nobody is saying this but yall. This is what I see all the time

"if this kid doesn't run for 2000 yards as a freshman, yall will have a meltdown"

"if this kid doesn't win a Heisman as a freshman, yall will have a meltdown"

"if this kid doesn't run 25 times a game as a freshman, yall will have a meltdown"

"if this kid doesn't become, Bo, Walker, Sanders, Peterson, Brown, Campbell, Simpson, Jordan, Gretzky, Ruth, Tyson, Ali, Skywalker, Jackson, Superman, Goku, President, King, Buddha, Jesus, God, etc, rolled all into one as a freshman, yall will have a meltdown"

"if this kid doesn't solve world hunger, make peace in the middle east, cure aids, diabetes, all cancers, find the meaning of life, fix Lost's and Sopranos finale, etc, as a freshman, yall will have a meltdown"

Tell that to Jeremy Hill who single handedly won the Iowa game for us on offense.

they aren't saying that specifically, but when people don't see the ignorance in putting a true freshman, regardless of who it is and how talented/hyped he is, on a top 100 players in the entire country list, it tends to imply that people just assume this kid won't be anything but the greatest of all time. and it's not just this thread. it's been going on for over a year. yeah, we're all aware of the hype and potential surrounding the kid, but he's not the first player with the same hype surrounding him to come out of high school. kids like this are pumped up basically every season, and unfortunately, many of them never do live up to that hype. it would just benefit everyone if people would wait until the kid actually plays before placing any sort of absurd expectations upon him.

A man with a brain. Thanks for putting the crowning of a king with zero experience into perspective...

That said, I really think he's going to impact.

I can't see why Reshard Roberson is not on this list. All the dude did last year is not go through fall practice it was either the 2nd or 3rd game on a Wednesday he got here an played that Saturday! Then shut down a top 10 NFL draft pick receiver who no one else could stop. Most of these list are jokes done by people that doesn't know their arse from a hole in the ground!! The list shouldn't bother me like that, but I just want our Tigers to get recognized especially when they deserve it!!!

Yes putting him in the top 100 makes no sense before he steps on the field, but how does it tend to imply he is the GOAT? You guys are overreacting about this. I've seen anything from 700-1000 yards and I believe that is realistic and will happen.

Hill ran for nearly 750 and 12 TDs in 8 games as a true freshman behind 5 people. Tyner ran for around 750 and he was 3rd string. Isaiah Crowell ran for 850 yards, Gurley nearly 1400, Dyer nearly 1100, Collins over 1000, Lattimore nearly 1200, Yeldon over 1100. Connor from Pitt ran for 800 yards, Williams from BYU nearly 800 yards, White from Wisconsin ran for 1050 yards and he was third string.

We lost Brazil, Copeland, Blue and Hill, that by itself is 289 carries. Who is going to get those carries?

Let's say you give Magee twice as last year, 172 carries
Williams is a TF, so let's say 40 carries (neither Blue, Ware, Magee, Ridley, Murphy, or Ford who redshirted, etc got that many)
Hilliard gets a boost to 90 carries

At worst Fournette will get 135 carries unless Magee just goes completely beastmode.

Considering The QBs will be running, add 40 more carries to Jennings and Mett's numbers which would come out to be 93 carries.

In total, that would be 530 carries. IMO, we run no less than 560 times. A safe number would be 580 considering the stout OL and young passing game.

Magee 165-170 carries
Fournette 155-160 carries at 6.3 ypc is 976-1008
QBs 90-95 carries
Hilliard 85-90 carries
Williams 35-40 carries
FB/WR/taking a knee 30 carries

560-585 carries
