For those of you who are not setting up a tailgate, what do you plan to do before heading into Reliant? Walk around tailgate area just taking in the ambience with expendable ice chest or hang out in the air conditioned bars/pubs near Rice?

I'll be tailgating all day, but in Metairie. I usually setup my equipment in the backyard when we play these neutral site games before our first home game.

Last year in Dallas it was to hot to tailgate so we hungout at humperdinks and watched football all day then made our way to the stadium. Is there anywhere like that in Houston to do the same?

I will be hanging out my house watching all of the other college football games. My wife plans on cooking crawfish etouffee and jambalaya. My in dad and my in laws are coming over. We're going to eat at the house and then head to the stadium.

There will be a Tailgate hosted by the LSU Houston Alumni Association. It's next door to the Stadium! It's in the AC! Details are at www.lsuhoustontailgate.com With the short time period why not let someone else take care of the planning, setup, teardown. All you have to worry about is having a good time!

Remember you have to have a ticket to the game to enter the Metro gate and since they are checking for tickets it might take time to get through that gate! I've been there for Texans games and it has taken up to an hour! And being this is the first game of the season I'd plan on that taking longer! Plus NFL security precautions at the stadium gates so.....I'd be at NRG park before 6:00 if you are riding Metro AND want to make kickoff!

Gumbo and lots of alchohol at a friends house in SW Houston
van w/driver rented to take us to and from stadium.
Get to stadium about 3hrs before KO, 1hr walking around mooching
Based on TCU game rules, we'll be in line for 2hrs to make kick-off

Celebrate glorious win with an all-nighter back at pre-game house.

Even thinking about going over to Wisky board and inviting some of them to pre-game party.

House is close to Rice University and we're setting up a tailgate there so we can start in the morning like usual. We'll have other games on TV, A/C, food, etc inside and yard games music, kegs outside. Having a bus pick up the tailgate group and drop us off at NRG a couple hours before gametime. After last year in Dallas I wanted to do something with some shade at least.
