I hear that before the Marvel panel, there was a one hour presentation on feminist representation in the comic industry. And since seats are first come first serve, people who wanted to see the Marvel stuff had to sit through a one hour lecture on what a shite job comics do regarding female characters.

That sounds a bit different than what was scheduled. Here's how it was listed in the program:

Entertainment Weekly: Women Who Kick arse
Saturday July 26, 2014 4:10pm - 5:10pm
Hall H

A discussion among fierce, fearless and flat-out fantastic female actors such as Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy), Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones), Nicole Beharie (Sleep Hollow) and Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story) that open up about the power and privilege of playing women who redefine the rules and refuse to yield.

And I wouldn't mind hearing Maisie Williams and Katey Sagal speak. I sat through less interesting panels to see the good stuff in Hall H.

How are they "fierce" and "fearless"?

I don't get the overplaying of their achievements. It's dumb.

Refuse to yield to what?

I would make a terrible feminist. I don't understand this junk.
