Why do minorities vote D?

this is speific to the individual but if you pick one of these: pandering, emotional thinking, and "free" stuff, you'll probably get it right

They aren't sophisticated enough to vote in their true best interest?

Don't know about other countries but Mexicans have a strong preference for large centralized govt taking care of them... the nanny state. There is no way they would be viewed as conservative in the U.S.

getting "free" stuff isn't exactly against their interests

and if you are thinking emotionally, you're making a rational mistake, in my eye, but you're still making a decision that you perceive to be the best for yourself in that moment

pandering creates the fear/desire needed to make those decisions

Yea I have no clue why Hispanics don't want to associate with the GOP.

Yeah, but you said yourself rational people can see beyond this and know their best interest. So they aren't rational? ...they are acting on emotions voting for "free stuff"?

stealing without recourse (aka, wealth redistribution) is a completely rational decision

i just think it's wrong

i think you're combining my 3 things into an "all of the above" when it's an "either/or"

didn't say you did, was just making a point that most everyone votes based on emotion and it's not exclusive to the dems

It's ok though - they don't have a high enough level of intelligence to understand that level of thinking ..... so.....again.....

Why in the world won't Hispanics vote for Republicans?

i hope you understand that you're making the argument that we should be ruled by inferior rationality and bad decision making

they should all be ostracized or we should change the system so that we don't have a system built on emotional thinking

I don't know how anyone expects Hispanics to vote Republican when the entire race has been demonized and harassed by the GOP. The anti-illegal immigrant stance is way over the top and makes these people look like scarface-type criminals (even though they are less likely to commit a crime than natives). The arizona laws dont help. etc.

The GOP does nothing to help themselves. Even if all were super conservative, they would vote democrat still. Hell, even the cubans who have been as solid GOP as you can get, are starting to go democrat.

Is it possible for a candidate, or a party to just advocate policies that simply are right and without regard to and not be sensitive to, or slanted towards an ethnicity, a race, a color, a proclivity, a bias, a victimology?

there is a strong anti-immigrant stance amongst the unions that support DEMs, but we don't hear much about that

just like blacks threw support at DEMs in the face of abject racism by the very same unions

why are these arguments always slanted against the GOP? why don't we bring up the DEM-supporting groups who are anti-immigrant?

There is a difference between people who support a party being anti immigration and talking heads/ politicians/ state governments being very loudly anti immigration. They are anti immigration to a point they are anti-hispanics. like the party has taken anti-terrorism to anti- all muslims.

You can be anti-immigration with out screaming it at the top of your lungs.

No. I'm pointing out that you're saying minorities are just too stupid (or irrational or emotional) to vote republican - in the same thread wondering aloud why Hispanics won't vote for republicans.

No, I think he is making the argument that why would hispanics support a party whose constituents often ostracize, demonize, and insult them. If you consider that emotional thinking, then we are all emotional thinkers.
