What he said. Call your local ag agent and ask him for advice as well. My parents had a similar situation. Pecan trees never produced so dad cut them down.

How crowded are they? On a normal sunny day sun should be covering 50 per cent of ground around and between the trees. Otherwise they will be generally unhealthy. If not crowded then fertilize according to recommendations we have ours sprayed regularly
