For sure. It seemed like he was insinuating some long term solution though. Maybe not.

99% of the Rant wanted the expansion so it could brag about being over 100,000.....not so it would look pretty.

Its going to have shopping centers and such. I knew there would be student housing, I didn't think it would be dorms though. That's disappointing. Should have gone with apartments.

A guy from TAF was on 104.5 today and said they expect the NCAA to start allowing athletic housing again soon so they may be waiting for that to pass to fully decide what to build on Nicholson.

About 20 yrs. over due....most of our SEC brethren did this a LONG time ago...no need to now congratulate the often "late to the party" LSU athletic dept. !

Whoever was in charge of closing in the south end zone back in the day should get a swift kick in the arse if he isn't dead of old age already. Don't know what is worse the design for closing in the south end zone or design for Middleton library? Both fricked up a very aesthetically pleasing architecture.

If these close to campus parking spots are always so empty, then how is that making the traffic worse?

I don't think the paid parking lots have anything to do with the traffic issues after games.

I don't think they are making traffic worse except forcing some people to the outskirts of campus. The planning by police and LSU has made traffic worse. There is little or no coordination now.

There should be signs indicating which lots are full and clear and concise directions. Now its drive to a lot, its full, so cop directs you to another lot that is open. Then on way to that lot a cop says oh no you cant go this way so you end up doing a complete loop without finding a parking spot.

Cant count the times last year I heard for the FL game where friends spent 3hrs in traffic and went home instead of the stadium.

I absolutely hate the design of the west upper deck. I hope they can retrofit it somehow to make it look more like Tiger Stadium should.

That being said.....the south end zone looks great, and I love the improvements they've made to the windows, hard scape, and the repositioning of the advertisements in the stadium.

I wish people like you would quit bitching about the athletic dept.

Let's just revisit this program back in the late 80's , early 90's

The facilities were horrible , actually embarrassing .,,.the stadium was falling apart and the training / weight rooms were laphable ......

The football program was at an all time low , and that administration was clueless .,..but hey parking was free and tickets were cheap ...

Now we have state of the art facilities and a winning program , actually the best it's been in its history .... Won two natty titles and have a winning coach that wants to stay .....

But hey the stadium doesn't match , there's adds on the giant video boards , we can see the concessions and bathrooms on the south upper , it cost too much to goto the games , traffic is too bad so I have to leave at half time. , there's no service on my phone ( we'll watch the god damned game) , they pipe in music. , the bathrooms are too crowded , there are no hd tvs in the concourses , we can't recruit , our coach sucks , our ad sucks , freaks a bust , our players are always in trouble , the student are vulgar and the bitching goes on and on ....

Look there is always room for improvement , I get that but the lsu football program , facilities included and the campus is night and day better than it's ever been .... looking back there is only one thing that was better 25 years ago and that's the attitude of our fans ,,,,,

They should at least repaint the west side. That shouldn't cost much..

I agree, I know they can paint some of the west side. That brown on the West side looks sooo dingy.

Those gates and columns look real high schoolish cheap. Move those to another area of the university.

Plus they can easily update the fence around the west end with a relocating of the iron fence to the tennis facility. Make Real wall with the Coliseum inspiration in mind. Finally Then the pressure washer can help a whole lot!!

Not much thought behind the west side gate project ..

This would look a lot better ... Minus the video boards and ads

A little more expensive , but wow what difference..

25 years ago we were entering the season as defending sec champs, had won 2 of the last 3 sec championships and had a really good recruting class coming in. Keep rambling though if it makes you feel better.

Looking at those old pics of tiger stadium it made me realize how stupid architcts must've been in the 50's. In the 20's and the 40's they did the stadium right. Then came the 50's that brought us that horrible south enclosure of the TS and of that monstrosity know as The Middleton library!

he did say that they would use the area where the married housing was for parking this year. But also said they had plans to build something on the site of the old box...

so if they take away the parking at the old box site and after this year, take away the parking in the married housing area..i don't know how that helps with parking.

it wont help. one year of parking before construction starts on the area isnt any kind of a solution.
