Going to do some fishing on S. Toledo Bend next week with my 11 yo son. He wants to put out some juglines and try to catch some catfish to fry up. I've never done this, any suggestions on jugline setup, type of bait, depth, and where to fish would be appreciated. Thanks!

On a flat at night.

Anything will do but shad is my go to.

No more than 2'

Circle hooks work good but it really doesn't make too much difference.

get some pool noodles and cut them into smaller pieces. get some string like you would use for a trot line and run it through the pool noodle hole and tie off. add a good size catfish hook and a small weight to keep it down. use cut bait, shiners, hotdogs, etc. as bait and have a good time!
