They're re-opening Poets where Bootlegger's was downtown.

Tigerland does this plus dress codes to keep african americans out of their bars. It is pretty sickening to watch.

Those door guys are racist as frick

I have a close buddies who is black and he has never had a problem getting into Tigerland bars... They keep trashy people out with their rules, not black people.

The first year it was open was great. Small crowd, free drinks on fridays. Then the owners stopped giving a shite and made 0 improvements.

Hadn't the large majority of the crowd shifted towards downtown anyway?

Uptown NOLA and Lafayette bars do the same shite. I saw some black dude get denyed from City Bar b/c of his belt, which was normal.

City Bar

Fight broke out at the door one night when I was trying to pay the cover. Money went everywhere.

I netted $200

apparently the Simcoe strip bars or whatever bars poor Lafayette black folk go to took a big hit so they're migrating downtown. there's a helluva lot of loitering going on right now, i'm guessing the owners are probably a little uneasy.

He should be thankful. I wish I got denied every time someone dragged me to city bar.

Im not saying keep the bar the same, just the inside of that bar would be a solid setup.

Jones always says how the setup is nice when I bring T Club up.

I doubt I'll ever go back there. I didn't even like it much when I was going twice a week

Were you underage? Why are you paying cover?

You're absolutely right. They should let you drink illegally and just wait to get raided. I mean, they do want to lose their license to operate and pay a huge arse fine.
I've never been to any bar that will jack a drink out of your hand like at bogies, most bars especially around Tigerland as long as someone else buys it they will look the other way if you're drinking.... Not at bogies

Really?

That was 100% Fred's when I was underage. I'd drink all night at JLs or Mikes, but Freds was impossible to drink at.

Hueys is popular and I went there because some fellow CHS grads opened it up, but I was not a fan.

I've been going to Hueys on Thursday nights pretty often. I didn't like it at first but it's growing on me. They are building up a decent beer list. Still don't like going downtown but when I do, I go to Hueys.
