Nah, I filed an insurance claim through parent's insurance. I'll be honest, all I know about it is my parent's told me they'd use the insurance proceeds as a down payment for my replacement car and $8,000 was the down payment. Pardon my ignorance.

So...when does she get her phone and driving privileges back?

(Glad she walked away from that!)

Ah, ok. Feel better now.

It had 180k miles on it and full coverage was like $4k per year on a 9 year old car. With a $1000 deductible, it wasn't worth it to carry full coverage.

Two teens driving is expensive shite.

We just chilled and loved on her yesterday. Today deal with the stuff. Tomorrow, deal with her.

Right now she's off the road. Wife and I talking about phone tonight. I don't see her driving for anything more than family errands for awhile. For her to get full driving back, she's gonna have to get her own vehicle.

She's got a job and has a few hundred saved for a car. Life's about to give her a lesson in that area.

Nobody else was injured and that is the greatest blessing. Her bad decisions could have cost many lives.

That car was shared with her brother who was planning to take it to college in a month.

Good outlook. I have a few years to go before any of mine reach driving age, but it's always interesting to hear how other parents handle things.

She was sober and had a seatbelt on. Two wins. I'll take that.

So she was about 2/10 on good decision making. Grrr.

Probably worth more than your tow bill but that is a pain in the arse to deal with. Very happy your daughter is OK. Know the feeling.
