That we're not all underwater.
That we don't all wear antebellum clothing and live on plantations (seriously, I have heard this far more than once, and they were all dead serious).
That we get more rain per year than Seattle
That the original "Tarzan" movie (silent film) was filmed around Morgan City.
That we have drive through daiquiris and allow open containers in public.
That the vast majority of us speak English only and very few speak French at all.
That there's a ton of Islano (Canary Islanders) coonasses with Spanish last names down here (Diez, Martinez, Gonzales, ect)
There's a ton of Irish, Italians, Jews, Germans, and Lebanese down here.

accents are different just about every 2-3 parishes over you travel. At least on the coast it is.

Both Baton Rouge and Lake Charles were not part of the Louisiana Purchase.

This. People in Gonzales don't sound like people from Donaldsonville, who don't sound like people from Lutcher, who don't sound like people from Kenner, who don't sound like people from New Orleans, who don't sound like people from Chalmette.

People from Golden Meadow, New Orleans, and Shreveport sound like they are from different parts of the United States, but are all Louisianians.

Some of you people are ignorant as shite and must rarely if ever get out of LA.
Nobody actually thinks LA people all ride to school in pirogues, have pet alligators, live on plantations, and only speak French... The people who told you that were probably fricking with you. Do you think all people from Texas are cowboys or that people in Alaska live in Igloos?
Don't be ingnorant

Have family in Minnesota, Alaska, and Connecticut who have all said they know people who think that is how it is in Louisiana. They knew better from visiting. In Boston I was asked that more than a few times...so STFU dumbass.

I travel a lot. I have met countless numbers of these people. They are really fun to f&%k with. I tell them about my pet alligator Pierre and how my cher amio would pole da pirogue down da bayou for our first date to buy our first pair of shoes.

They probably think that there are people who go to school in boats, never wear shoes, speak French ect... Which I mean there are, just like there are some people in Alaska that live in Igloos, but nobody actually thinks this is the norm

Shush it Nurse. he meant the handles of booze being available at grocery stores, circle k, etc.
A buddy from Milwaukee was VERY amused by this as he was a hard drinking Badger from UW and was happily shocked.
