To each his own. There are a lot of people that don't like Tool in the same way that I can't stand Radiohead.
And ftr, I def want some new music, but this is almost certainly to be their last album. Id rather have something to look forward to than this rushing out and that be the end of it.

Anyone comparing TOOL with Pink Floyd could only do so in mystique and or influence to music.
Their are no similarities in sound that I can recall.
