Life is good.
Did you know that Chelsea Handler's grandfather was a Nazi soldier who was captured and sent to Algona, Iowa as a WWII prisoner of war?
The Nazi regime's propaganda machine told Nazi soldiers that if captured by the United States they would be castrated and experimented upon. Ironic, huh? The propaganda was used to scare the soldiers into never surrendering - to keep them fighting.
However, when Chelsea Handler's grandfather arrived to the Algona, Iowa POW camp, his treatment was FAR better than anticipated. The prisoners were regularly fed good food. In fact, they were fed better than how they were fed in the German army. They were allowed to exercise every day. They were encouraged to be creative. POW pictures showed German POWs acting in a camp play complete with a stage and elaborate sets and costumes.
He liked his experience in the United States so much that after the war he returned to the US and eventually became a citizen.
We can thank him for creating the bloodlines that would eventually create Chelsea Handler.
SIDE NOTE:
Killz's Cucumber Martini recipe
2 ounces Cucumber Vodka
1/2 ounce Vermouth
1/2 ounce Agave Nectar
1/2 ounce lime juice
Crushed cucumber
Garnish with two very thinly sliced cucumbers and a mint sprig.
Good day from southwest Missouri.

Look at my recipe. I actually crush up cucumbers so that the drink doesn't rely on the cucumber flavored vodka.
Also, agave nectar instead of simple syrup is the Killz secret ingredient.
