For undergrad, likewise. I had a schollie and got a refund check each semester, so I didn't even have to work for living expenses. But I was talking about more so grad school. Tuition is 50 K and you might have to work 80 hrs/wk. There is no side job that can cover that. These aren't the old days.

True. And one of the biggest differences is marriage. Back in the day people got married around age 20. Now, it's more like 30. The pressure of getting settled into a job and supporting kids was greater back then than it is now. My two kids got married at age 26 and had their first children at age 28. By age 26 I already had both of them. Good luck with your studies.
