Here's an example: A couple of months back, I'm reading an article about newly acquired contracts with Raytheon. And I'm thinking, "hey, that's great. That's an economic shot in the arm for the U.S. and I know a couple of people who will benefit from this big contract." Then I'm thinking, "Uh-Oh, what's up"? "Are they merely selling hammers that will actually require something to nail in order to justify the expense"? "Do they actually have an acutely keen sense of awareness for predicting the future? Do they actually know what may happen next"?

I'm guessing it could be a bit of both. But then I start questioning myself..."maybe that Scahill book on Blackwater I'm reading that's clouding my judgment."

Then I realize, "Naaa...it's not the book. It's fairly straight up, but I'll stick with the foreign policy/MIC theory, my gut, and whatever I can objectively see".
