I can, but I can't name 5 current MLB players.

Posted on 7/18/14 at 12:48 pm to baybeefeetz

1. LBJ
2. Durant
3. ? CP/Melo/Love?
25, set consecutive double-double mark, legit shooter. He's definitely Top 5 in the league

3. ? CP/Melo/Love?
Everyone bags on James harden bc he has sucked in the playoffs these past 2 years. But if you take his regular seasons only, he'd be held in higher esteem. they are actually similar players as they both are very strong offensively and awful defensively. Love's rebounding marginally outweigh's harden's ball handling/play making
And if we're talking about young, skilled, unaccomplished players, I'd put Anthony Davis ahead of love, too

I was just thinking to myself whether I could or not as well. I don't like baseball.
I can definitely do 5, but I doubt I could name 20 active players.

There is no clear cut 3rd best player in the league right now, IMO.

Kevin Love is 6'10". You could pick him out of any crowd.

Is CP3 still third? I love him and have put as an obvious third for a good while, but I don't how much he stands out anymore statistically from the rest of the bunch.

Are you black? Black people are really bad at picking out white people. Really, that holds true for most communities. There's actually a really interesting discussion to be had about communities and how they influence our perception of the more subtle physical markers that characterize people of different ethnic groups.

Man, you have to be really care around here about literal vs figurative.
Eta: the point stands that for somebody considered such a key player, he has relatively little fame outside of nba fans. How is that for y'all? Better?

Led the league in steals, assists(and assist %), 5th ish in PER if I recall, and 2ndi n WS/48.
I'm not an "eye test" guy so I'll concede that I'm contradicting myself compared to my normal posting habits, but watching him play, it's obvious to the eye IMO the way he controls every single thing offensively that you can't exactly assign a value to or won't always show in a boxscore.
The gulf may not be as large as Bron/KD being 1/2 and so far ahead of everyone else, but I do think Paul is 3rd by a fairly comfortable margin.

quote:when he got hurt (like he seems to all the time) this past year, Blake played exceptional. He played like everyone thought he could when he was drafted #1 overall. It's like he finally put it all together. That player is significantly better than a busted up CP3. JMO...
