My guess is... because you'd see every junior with even a chance to get drafted declaring and getting mixed up with agents, which would be too difficult to oversee.

I thought as long as they did not hire an agent they could return to school.

I like what is already in place. I think more people leave school to go to the NFL if they knew their school had to take them back in.

Because they became ineligible when they hired agents. If you could declare without hiring an agent maybe they would be allowed to return.

What they need if minor league football so those interested in learning at a university can do so; and those wanting to go pro can also. It'd be just like.........college baseball...NEVERMIND

Most of these players drop out of school, so their GPA takes a hit & then that opens the door to questioning what their actual status is in school if they were allowed to return. But the main reason is the issue of scholarships.

because the NCAA doesn't want to have its biggest money maker, by far, screwed over like ncaa baseball. it would be a complete cluster frick

incorrect. per nfl rules, to declare for the draft, you must submit a signed and notarized statement renouncing college eligibility. players have until january 15th to do this. they do, however, have the option of revoking, but it must be done within three days of the january 15th deadline (january 18th). i think the nfl and ncaa do plenty to give these players options by allowing them to receive draft grades prior to making a decision.

These are usually 20 to 21 year old kids listening to friends and agents giving bad advice. shouldnt they get a second chance?

Don't players have to declare before NSD? Seems to me that if they declare, their scholly becomes available for a walk-on, greyshirt or an additional signee

If all schollys are gone, the option to bring the kid back is gone anyway.
