The symptoms you're describing can be tied back to true anxiety issues. It's probably not so much your heart as it is your mind.
Anything worrisome or stressful going on in your life right now? I remember having something similar at age 21 for almost no reason - even went to the doctor to get it checked out, and I'm not the type to do that for no reason.
They checked me for an embolism, if I recall correctly, but everything came back fine. The older I get the more I struggle with anxiety, though. Lately I've had an unusually high amount of stress at home and I can feel my chest hurt every time the source of it is around.
It can be pretty fricking scary, but the first thing you should do when you feel it coming on is take some deep breaths and try drinking a big glass of water or something. Cutting back on the caffeine can help, too.
Hope this helps.

This. I had occasional pains going back to my college days. Finally in my 40s I got some more regular chest and left arm pains. They were fleeting but finally enough to scare me into going to a cardiologist. I passed my EKG and stress test with flying colors. I asked the doc why I was getting the pain and he said probably stress.
Once I knew that it helped me manage the stress. Now if I feel something in my chest I just take a step back and calm down.
I would definitely get it checked out for peace of mind.
